Seeking a change from your standard Lomé leisure activities?
Look no further than Afriklub go kart racetrack, located on Boulevard Jean Paul II in Kégué, just next to the stadium. Zip around the tire-lined track in a speedy go kart for a friendly competition with friends.
When planning a kids’ outing, note that young children (under 7) are required to ride slowly in a kart with a staff member for safety reasons. Young ones may be disappointed that they can’t keep up with older racers.
Refreshments, including sodas, beers and mediocre pizzas, are available in the track-side restaurant. For those waiting their turn for a kart, the restaurant plays music videos on some big screens — though I found watching the racers and plotting my speedy strategy much more entertaining while waiting.
Wednesdays through Sundays and on public holidays from 15h to 22h. During school holidays, the track has open hours on Mondays and Tuesdays as well. Rates are 4.000 fcfa for a 10 minute session before 18h on weekdays, and 6.000 fcfa for a 10 minute session during peak times (evenings after 18h, weekends, and holidays). Subscription discount cards are available for purchase by frequent racers!
